Water and sanitation are vital for public health, environmental sustainability, and socio-economic development. Recognizing this, the Gingoog City Water District (GCWD), in partnership with the Local Government Unit and FLOV2VS Gingoog Incorporated, inaugurated the Gingoog Innovative Economical Septage and Sewage Treatment Plant (GieSSTP) on July 28, 2023. This facility, the first of its kind in Region 10, aligns with legal frameworks like Presidential Decree No. 198 and RA 9275, as well as City Ordinance No. 2018-336, showcasing the city’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

With a design capacity of 100 to 300 cu.m. for sewage and 22 to 100 cu.m. for Septage daily, the facility anticipates the city’s growth and can potentially serve neighboring municipalities.

The GieSSTP started its operations on October 2023 and now serves through a zoning system, embodying proactive steps towards sustainable development and positioning the Gingoog city as a regional leader in water and sanitation.
